The vast majority of the chilies sold at Tigges Farm are grown on the farm and picked fresh, as nothing beats farm fresh flavor. You can buy chilies individually or by the bushel. Chilies bought at the farm are fire roasted on site at no additional charge. Save yourself the long drive to New Mexico and buy the same variety locally. The only difference is they are grown in Colorado and fresher. Hot Chile Peppers We have whatever heat you want, (when available and barring a crop failure). Description of the Chiles sheet Very Mild/Mild - Mild Anaheim* Joe E Parker Mild - Mild Anaheim* Mild/Medium - Big Jim (you never know if this chile will be mild or medium)* Medium - Sahuaro (Tigges Farm Signature Chile), Medium Anaheim* Medium/Hot - Fresno, Greeley Chubby, Poblano,* Jalapeno* Hot - Mira Sol (known as Pueblo Chile - green & red as available)*, Hot Anaheim* Very, Very Hot - Lumbre (a Dynamite variety)* *A replacement chile, when we run out of what we grow or a chile grown elsewhere in Colorado, that we purchase. Sweet Bells & Cones Green bells, red, orange & yellow sweet cones
Tigges Farm grows medium to large salad and BLT Sandwich slicers available as soon as Mother Nature lets us pick. The flavor is "amazing." We are sorry to say we have discontinued tomatoes in quantity for canning. There will be no tomatoes for sale in quantity by the bushel, but limited number of flats may be available. We needed more ground available to plant chilies. We know how hard it is to "wait" for them to ripen, so don't get anxious early. On years with hot days and nights mid-August we will start to see them turn red. On years with cool nights the "wait" seems eternal. Once again Mother Nature rules. Other produce either grown at the farm or purchased from Colorado farmers in the area include: Bell & Cone Sweet Peppers Chile Ristra's (Fresh & Dried) Cucumbers (Slicers only - No pickling cucumbers) Dill Fruit (Sometimes Plums & Peaches - call first) Garlic (Hint: You can ask for garlic to be roasted with your green chile) Gourds (For Crafts) Melons (Maybe or Maybe not - call first) Onions (White, Yellow and Red) Pinto Beans Pumpkins (Carving, Pie & Miniature) Click here to go to pumpkin page Squash (Spaghetti, Acorn and More) Sweet Corn (Mid-August to maybe Mid-Sept) Tomatoes (Will Pick Green on Request)
